The Computing Research Association (CRA) Departmental BPC Plan workshop scheduled for August 11, 2021 has been postponed until further notice. The BPCnet.org team still plans to hold the workshop and will alert the community when a new date is determined. Additionally, the virtual office hours scheduled for August 19, 2021 and September 14, 2021 are postponed until a later date.

The Computing Research Association (CRA) is hosting the fourth workshop in its series of Departmental BPC Plan workshops on August 11, 2021 from 11:00 AM ET to 4:30 PM ET. The purpose of this workshop is to provide guidance on how to create a Departmental BPC Plan using recommendations from NSF and BPCnet.org.

Google’s exploreCSR awards aid higher education efforts to support students from historically marginalized groups to pursue graduate studies and research careers in computing. DU(E-NEWS) Special Edition: AAAS-IUSE Summer Labs: Developing a New Faculty Model to Improve Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion
The AAAS-IUSE Initiative invites participation in its Summer Labs Sessions for an opportunity to discuss systemic issues related to diversity, equity, and inclusion at the faculty level. The webinar will be held on Tuesday June 22 from 2:00 – 5:00 pm EST. University STEM faculty and graduate students interested in conversations on examining equity within faculty recruitment and tenure systems, creating cultural change within STEM departments, and confronting common challenges encountered by faculty at Minority Serving Institutions and Historically Black Colleges and Universities are encouraged to attend.
Free Leadership Academy for Undergraduate Students
The Arizona State University Center for Gender Equity in Science and Technology (CGEST) is hosting a free Leadership Academy this summer for interested undergraduate students. The Leadership Academy 2021 will meet for 3 sessions per week from July 12 – August 20, 2021. Applications will remain open until all seats are filled.
