AccessComputing: Team

AccessComputing helps students with disabilities successfully pursue undergraduate and graduate degrees in computing fields, and works to increase the capacity of postsecondary institutions and other organizations to fully include students with disabilities in computing courses and programs. We work with hundreds of students with disabilities who are pursuing computing degrees at schools across the country. Students who join the AccessComputing Team participate in an online mentoring community and are eligible to request funding for conference travel, tutoring, and internships.

A departmental plan can specify that they will encourage faculty to work with AccessComputing to identify students with disabilities for internships in their labs. A CISE PI can work directly with AccessComputing to identify students with disabilities for internships. AccessComputing provides support to the student and their mentor throughout the internship. Most internships are summer internships. The application to join the AccessComputing Team is available online.
