The mission of the Computer Science Teachers Association (CSTA) is to empower, engage and advocate for K-12 CS teachers worldwide.

The National Computer Science Honor Society is a project for teachers that encourages enthusiasm for computer science and promotes and recognizes academic excellence and service among high school computer science students. Started by CodeVA initially to serve Virginia teachers, CSTA now manages this  project and with other 160 CSHS’s.  All high schools that offer computer science classes are eligible to start and maintain a chapter, under the guidance of a faculty advisor. Students must meet academic requirements in computer science classes and complete service hours to augment the computer science education they receive in their schools.
