Resource Highlight: CERP – Data Buddies Project
The Data Buddies Project is an initiative of the Computing Research Association (CRA) Center for Evaluating the Research Pipeline (CERP) to collect data from individuals in computing and technology fields through the Data Buddies Survey (DBS). Academic departments across the United States and Canada volunteer to distribute DBS to students in their degree programs, while CERP also directly recruits other students and professionals in the field to complete the survey. CERP uses these data collected through the survey to track individuals’ educational and professional development over time, with the intention to promote evidence-based best practices for diversity, equity, and inclusion in computing and technology fields. CERP reports aggregated summary data back to departments in an effort to help them understand the experiences of their students and make data-informed decisions for policies and programs.Â
