Recently, CRA-WP announced the renaming of one of their most prominent programs. The Grad Cohort for URMD Workshop will now be named the Grad Cohort for Inclusion, Diversity, Equity, Accessibility, and Leadership Skills (The IDEALS Workshop). This renaming was a result of an ongoing community effort to support discussions on the use of the acronym and term “URM” within the realm of computing and expanding access to computing efforts. Community discussions on the renaming effort were highlighted as a primary motivator for the renaming of the Workshop, and in the future the IDEALS Workshop will continue its mission of widening participation in computing.
The IDEALS Workshop will be accepting applications through the month of November, with the expected starting time of March 2021. You can read more on this renaming effort here.
