The National Science Foundation’s Directorate for Education and Human Resources (EHR) Core Research program is seeking proposal submissions for fundamental research that contributes to the knowledge that underlies STEM education in one or more of the three broadly conceived Research Areas:

  • Research on STEM Learning and Learning Environments
  • Research on Broadening Participation in STEM fields, and
  • Research on STEM Workforce Development.

Within this framework, the ECR program supports a wide range of fundamental STEM education research activities, aimed at learners of all groups and ages in formal and informal settings.

NSF is additionally hosting a free webinar on July 8, 2021 featuring a panel of current and past ECR grantees who will share their experiences writing successful proposals. Following the panel, there will be a presentation by ECR program officers on developing ECR research questions, research teams, and preparing proposals. Please note that registration is required to attend the event.

The EHR Core Research proposal deadline is October 7, 2021. For the full solicitation, please visit the NSF website by clicking the link provided below.
